At the Duke Quantum Center, we are building and operating several high performing trapped ion quantum computers. With a high fidelity universal gate set, full programmability, reconfigurability, and long coherence times, these machines are capable of a wide variety of immediate applications, explorations, and demonstrations. We continue to expand the number of qubits, improve the fidelities, add new gate functions, and innovate the technology. With these systems, the Noel lab is interested in digital computing applications related to quantum gravity, quantum chromodynamics simulations, random circuit studies, and more.
